Program
The Program has three main components: a multi-session virtual training workshop, virtual policy roundtables, and an in-person symposium held in Okinawa, Japan or Washington, D.C. During the training workshop, fellows learn how to present their research to a variety of audiences, including the general public and policy makers. Training includes how to engage with audiences who do not have a background in science and how to develop writing materials geared towards policymakers, such as briefs and policy pitches. The policy roundtables give fellows the opportunity to connect with and learn from leaders in the fields of science communication, media, and policy. Finally, the fellows convene for an in-person symposium in which they will interact with local policy makers and present their research and policy outputs.
